Practice Description & Academic Background:

Tshegofatso Kgomo (Tshego) is an admitted advocate of the High Court of South Africa and a member of the Johannesburg Society of Advocates.

Tshego was called to the Bar on 18 January 2023 and is currently practicing at Maisels III Chambers, Sandton.

Tshego runs a general litigation practice with a specific focus on construction and engineering disputes, administrative law disputes, general corporate and commercial disputes, trademark and copyright infringement enforcement and forensic investigations.

 

Tshego has experience in:

  • disputes involving bespoke and standard form contracts including the JBCC, GCC, NEC and FIDIC contracts. Tshego also has experience in disputes regarding retention, performance and parent company guarantees;
  • tender reviews generally and general administrative reviews in the construction, medical schemes, telecommunications, petroleum, anti-dumping and food and agricultural products fields;
  • investigating fraud, bribery and corruption in both the public and private sectors. Tshego has worked in matters involving the Special Investigating Unit, the Investigating Directorate, the Directorate of Priority Crime Investigations, the National Prosecuting Authority, the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, the Swiss Office of the Attorney General and Staatsanwaltschaft in Mannheim, Germany;
  • litigating the full spectrum of business supply chain disputes (including debt recovery, liquidations and business rescue);
  • shareholder and director disputes; and
  • enforcing trademarks and copyrights.

 

Prior to joining the Bar, Tshego practiced as a construction and engineering law and forensic investigations attorney at Pinsent Masons, Sandton.

Prior to joining Pinsent Masons, Tshego practiced as a construction and engineering law attorney at Bowmans, Sandton – where he also completed his articles.

Tshego graduated from the University of Pretoria in 2012 where he obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree.
