Anele’s legal career began at Werksmans Attorneys (“Werksmans”) as a candidate attorney and was promoted to Director in 2018. During her time at Werksmans she worked in the Healthcare, Litigation & Life Sciences and Land Reform Restitution and Tenure practices.
In 2016 she was appointed to sit as a panel member of the independent disputes panel of the largest open scheme in the country. As a panel member she often chaired hearings between members and the scheme.
In 2021, after completing her pupilage she joined the bar. She appears in various divisions of the High Court and the Magistrates Court, the Supreme Court of Appeal and the Lesotho Court of Appeal.
Anele contributed to the “Analysis of domestic violence legislation: review of domestic violence laws” in the South Africa-specific chapter of a comparative law study entitled “A Landscape Analysis of Domestic Violence Laws” (December 2013). The study was prepared via the Thomson Reuters Foundation’s Trust Law Connect for Beijing Fanbao (Anti-Domestic Violence Network), an alliance focusing on domestic violence against women in China.
