Presently practicing as an advocate at the Johannesburg Bar. Commenced practice as an advocate in January 1986, and prior thereto admitted and practiced as an attorney. Conferred senior counsel status in November 1997. Presided on a number of occasions since 1997 as Acting Judge in the High Court and Labour Court of South Africa. Chairman of the Society of Advocates, Johannesburg in 2000.
During the period August 1979 to December 1985, lecturer and thereafter senior lecturer in the Faculty of Law, University of Natal, Durban. Part-time lecturer in Company Law during 1986 at the University of Witwatersrand. In excess of 12 articles published in law journals and a series of book reviews.
Awarded the Hilgard Muller Prize for best final year student - LLB (Unisa), Fullbright Scholar in 1997-1998 - LLM at the Southern Methodist University, Dallas, USA and British Council Scholar in 1984 - LLM at the University of London (LSE).
